Hi Friends! It’s week 2 of the one room challenge. Last week I revealed that we will be tackling the bathroom in the tiny house. You could read more about it here. For this space I was inspired by European Cottage/Farmhouse style.
Isn’t it calming?! I wanted the space to feel like an oasis, neutral palette because that’s what I love, modern with the finishes but still lived in.
As I previously mentioned in last weeks post. The bathroom is in pretty bad shape so we will be replacing everything except for the floor tile. The tiles themselves are in good shape but I will definitely need to deep clean the grout. I found a budget friendly alternative to give the floors an update – floor paint!
Out with the old:
-Remove trim and baseboards
-Remove light fixture above vanity mirror
-Remove vanity and mirror
-Remove upper cabinet above toilet
-Remove shower surround
-Remove light fixture above shower
In with the new:
-Install tile in the shower (The same ones from our laundry room project)
-Install floor to ceiling tile
-Install new shower head + valve
-Paint the walls
-Install new toilet
-Build floating shelf above toilet
-DIY bathroom vanity
-Install new bathroom faucets
-Hang new mirror
-Install bathroom light fixture (this was from our old house)
-Deep clean the floor
-Paint the floor using Rust-oleum Floor Paint
-Install new baseboards & trim
Woo! I think that’s everything! I’m sure I forgot a couple of items and once we get started new things will need to be added. We’ve been out of town but now that we are back I’m excited to get started.
Check back in next week to see how much demo we were able to get done. Until then, definitely go check out what all the other participants have planned for their rooms!
