Hi friends! We’re into Week 2 of the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge and today I get to share my laundry room mood board with you! If you missed the first week, you can check it out here.
Without further ado, here is the vision I have for the laundry room:
The main problem I have with our current laundry room is functionality. Yes, it gets the job done but it doesn’t fit our needs. The majority of our laundry requires folding. Therefore I wanted to add a countertop above our washer and dryer so that I have ample amount of space to fold all of our clothes. To maximize the space, I plan on building cubbies in between the appliances so that I have a spot I can store things.
I fell in love with the 2.5″ x 8″ Cloe tile by Bedrosian and I knew immediately that this was the tile I wanted for this space. I love that it’s neutral but the slight texture gives it depth. I ordered the white since I am keeping our upper cabinets.
Speaking of cabinets! I have been loving the fluted/reeded trend that has been going on. Ever since I saw Shae McGee’s Master Bedroom I’ve been thinking of places I would be able to add this into our home. Although, I am not fully confident in doing our entire master bedroom wall, I think updating our cabinet face with the reeded casing will do for now.
For this project, I was also inspired by Jenna from JennaSueDesigns who actually just DIY Fluted Cabinet Doors in her playroom. Don’t they look stunning?
For the opposite side I wanted to keep it pretty simple. First off, we will be removing the cabinet doors. Second, I am going to install bead board paneling. We will finish it off with a floating shelf and a closet rod so that we have a designated spot for hanging our clothes!
And there you have it. Let me know what you guys think! I’m sure there will be a good chance the room will change a little bit once we start until then, check out what the other participants and featured designers are up to for Week 2!
