Hi Y’all! Justin and I are so excited to share that we are having a baby girl and we are over the moon! I’ll be honest, we were hoping for a boy. Justin really wants a boy to carry on his last name (now it just means he’s going to want baby #2 sooner!) That being said, we are thrilled to be having a little girl and at the end of the day all we truly care about is having a healthy baby.
WHAT GENDER DID I THINK THE BABY WAS?
I had a strong feeling that the baby was going to be a girl. I felt like the universe kept showing me things that was screaming you’re having a girl. I would stroll through Target and look at all the cute little girl outfits. Not to mention, I had a lot of symptoms that according to old wives’ tale means you’re having a girl such as craving sweets, breaking out, moody, and the Chinese calendar also predicted girl.
WHEN DID WE FIND OUT?
Justin and I have known the gender of the baby for a while now. We chose to do the NIPT blood test at 11 weeks and then did an anatomy scan at 22 weeks to also confirm.
HOW DID WE PICK A NAME?
Justin and I picked out names for the baby long before we knew what the gender was. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and Luna Lovegood is my favorite character. I’ve always loved that name and knew that one day if I were to have a girl, that would be it. Luckily Justin was on board and liked the name as much as I did.
HOW DID I FIND OUT/HOW I TOLD JUSTIN.
Years ago while I was scrolling through Pinterest I came across a photo of this onesie. I said that whenever I became pregnant this is how I wanted to tell Justin. Well, since we became pregnant a lot sooner than expected I didn’t have time to do my original plan so I said that I would do it whenever I found out the gender. Since we did the NIPT test, they emailed me the results and I opened it up while I was at work. When I found out we were having a girl I knew exactly how I would tell him. I printed out a Hogwarts envelope and made it out to Luna Noble and it paired perfectly with the onesie.
HOW WE TOLD OUR FAMILY?
We told our family that lived here in Texas with cupcakes that had pink icing filled on the inside. For grandparents that lived out of state, I mailed out cookies that said “It’s a Girl” and “Luna Noble”.
We had our anatomy scan a couple of weeks ago and everything looks great! She’s currently 1lb and 1 oz and constantly on the move. December can’t get here soon enough!
