Hi Y’all! As many of you already know, Justin and I are expecting Baby Noble due this winter. Eek! One of the first things that came into my mind after I found out we were expecting was the nursery. I immediately hopped on Pinterest and created a “Nursery” board. I haven’t quite settled on the direction for the nursery yet but I do know I want to keep it gender neutral. I’m not a huge fan of bright, primary colors and neutral tones are my jam. Also, I want to be able to reuse most of the stuff for all of our future kids.
The great thing about doing a neutral nursery is that the possibilities are endless! Check out the three gender neutral nurseries below and tell me which one is your favorite. Don’t worry – you won’t hurt my feelings! Let me know what you love/hate about each room and we will see which items makes it into Baby Noble’s nursery! All three of these nurseries are still in the very early stages of design and they each have select pieces that I love. The final room will be slightly different from what you see here.
Before I share the design ideas, let me give you a little background on the space. We moved into our house in the middle of the pandemic and at the time I was working from home. The plan was to turn this room into my office but we never got around to finishing the room. Over a year later, it essentially has become our junk room. For the nursery, I plan on doing a feature wall but can’t decide if I want to do a wall treatment or wallpaper. I have been itching to wallpaper something in our home since we moved in and I have finally convinced Justin to let me! He hates wallpaper. Perseverance is key. Ha!
NURSERY DESIGN 1: SPARROWS
This is currently my favorite design that I have come up with. When researching nurseries I came across this sparrow wallpaper and completely fell in love. I love the print and that there is just the right amount of color and movement. My next favorite item from this design is the bouclé rocking chair. Bouclé is having a moment right now and I am here for it. I absolutely love the look of this dresser but honestly it’s a little out of my budget – however, I do have an IKEA hack in mind for it! Stay tuned for that. Does that crib look familiar? Justin’s grandmother gave us this crib and who am I to say no to a free crib?!

NURSERY DESIGN 2: SLATTED FEATURE WALL
One day I was scrolling through Instagram and Jess Hartman from Hartman Haus posted a reveal of her office with a slatted feature wall and I just loved the idea of doing that for our nursery. Although we already have our crib this one is definitely a show stopper. I love how the cane detail contrast beautifully with the bold black finish. I paired it with this rug that helps tie everything in altogether. This is a bold and edgier design that doesn’t scream nursery which I love.

NURSERY DESIGN 3: PLASTER WALLPAPER
Lastly, I love the look of plaster walls and this wallpaper is a close second to the real thing. I love how earthy it feels. The Soho Baby Crib is also stunning. It comes in a couple of different finishes but I’m a sucker for the natural wood. My favorite part about it is the legs which gives it some character. Also, I’ve had my eye on this rug for a while now from the CLJ x Loloi collab. It gives the nursery a modern twist.

So, there you have it! Which design is your favorite? What do you like/dislike about each room? The plan is to start working on the nursery once I finish up our laundry room makeover. We are eager to get this nursery started so I need to settle on a design option soon! Next week I will be sharing a roundup of some of my favorite nursery furniture by category for all budgets, so don’t miss out! Until next time. XO.
Always – Thavy
